This page describes what the academix.pl website stores in your browser and what it does with the data you leave in the beta sign-up form. The AcademiX iPhone app is described separately in the privacy policy, and the rules for using it in the terms of service. This page is a translation; if the versions differ in meaning, the Polish version prevails.
1. Who is responsible for the data
1.1. The academix.pl website and its data are the responsibility of Joachim Woźniak, the same controller as in the app’s privacy policy. Contact for all matters: kontakt@academix.pl.
1.2. You have the same rights as described in section 10 of the privacy policy: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and a complaint to the President of UODO.
2. What the website stores in your browser
2.1. Necessary. Without these, the website cannot remember your choices. They do not require consent.
- Your cookie decision — we save it in your browser’s storage (localStorage, key `academix_cookie_consent`) so that we do not ask you on every visit. It stays until you clear your browser data or change your decision.
- Beta spots counter — after you sign up, the website remembers on this device that the counter of free spots should go down (localStorage, key `academix_beta_taken`). It does not contain your email address.
2.2. Statistics — only with consent. After you click “Accept all”, we load Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google then sets the `_ga` and `_ga_*` cookies, which recognise your browser on later visits, for up to 2 years. We use them only for website traffic statistics: which pages are viewed, where visitors come from and which devices they use. Google may also process this data in the USA; see Google’s policy. Until you click “Accept all”, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all.
2.3. Without cookies. The website runs on servers of Vercel Inc. (USA). We use its built-in visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics), which do not store cookies or identifiers in your browser. To count visits they use a short-lived hash calculated from the IP address and browser, which does not allow recognising you across days. Vercel processes data on our behalf under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
2.4. Three buttons in the banner. “Accept all” turns on Google Analytics. “Necessary only” refuses statistics and remembers that refusal so that we do not ask again. “Reject” refuses statistics and saves nothing permanently — the decision lasts until you close the tab, and the banner appears again on your next visit. On refusal we delete the `_ga` and `_ga_*` cookies from your browser if they were set earlier.
2.5. How to change your decision. The footer of every page has a “Cookie settings” button that reopens the banner. You can also delete cookies yourself in your browser settings.
3. Beta sign-up
3.1. What we collect. When you leave your email in the beta sign-up form, you send us: your email address, the name of the form (e.g. homepage or chronotype quiz), your chronotype quiz result if you sign up from its screen, the website language, and confirmation that you accepted the terms of service and the privacy policy — with the date and document versions.
3.2. Why. To invite you to test the app when a spot opens up and to send one sign-up confirmation. We do not send newsletters or advertising.
3.3. Legal basis. Your request to be invited to the beta (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR — steps at your request prior to entering into a contract). We keep the record of your acceptance of the terms and the policy to be able to show what we asked you and when (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
3.4. Where the data goes. The form sends a message to the kontakt@academix.pl mailbox through our email provider and sends a confirmation to your address. We do not save sign-ups in any database — they exist only in that mailbox. The Vercel server remembers the IP address the sign-up came from for 10 minutes, solely to limit the number of sign-ups from one address.
3.5. How long. Until beta recruitment ends or until you ask us to delete it — write to kontakt@academix.pl and we will remove your address from the list.
4. Changes
4.1. The current version of this page is at academix.pl/cookies. We will inform you about significant changes, e.g. a new statistics tool, in the cookie banner and ask for your consent again.
